[PHPBB2] Problems with "User Groups"

As an alliance leader in OGame, I'm using the forums as a place where alliance members can meet and discuss game tips and strategies. Some of the information posted here is sensitive, so I was hoping to be able to restrict at least some of our boards to alliance members. When I click on "User Groups," however, I get the following error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ELSE in /home/phpbb2/public_html/groupcp.php on line 230

I don't know whether there is a bug in the system or if I have simply failed to set up required paremeters. Could someone pleasae help me?

Alternatively, if anyone knows of another way to restrict access to some posts by "locking" them, please advise me.
