On Saturday, March 15th, 2008 @ midnight, I will be taking the phpbb servers offline, in order to do some maintainance and updates.

Phpbb2 will be updated to the latest version, hopefully with no issues (we'll see)
Phpbb3 will be updated to rc1 of the multi-forum script (completed)

This will all be done AFTER backing everything up and making sure that things are fine. More posts on this as necessary. I will start with phpbb3, and then do phpbb2.

This was unable to be completed on Saturday due to a server crisis, I will try again this coming week.

I'm a couple hours late, but I got tied up with something. phpbb3 will be done tonight, and phpbb2 on Sunday evening. More updates as the update progresses

2 hours later and phpbb3 is done! Any problems, please bring them up in the phpbb3 discussion area. Also, you will notice the theme count for phpbb3 has gone up quite a bit as well. I've added a number of them to the list.


I may not get to phpbb2 Sunday, given the drastic measures it took to get phpbb3 done tonight (phpbb2 is MUCH worse), we'll see what happens. Plan on a couple of hours of inability though on Sunday night. Same bat time, same bat channel!

Just a quick heads up here.

phpbb2 was not done this weekend, due to the massive problems getting phpbb3 updated. I wanted to be sure that there were no major issues with mods.

I will be taking the phpbb2 forums offline Friday night, April 4th around 10pm CST . Plan on them being returned on Monday morning. While I understand that this is a major downtime, there are some major changes done to the phpbb2 source, which require me to do some major editing and the entire structure needs to be cleaned up.

Please understand that this is just an ESTIMATED downtime. I may have things back sooner, they may be back later. I will keep this thread updated with any and all information.
